Jamaica Dominates at the CARIFTA Games 2013
Jamaica continues to show it’s dominance at the CARIFTA Games 2013 being held at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium, in Nassau, Bahamas. After two days of competition Jamaica has accrued a grand total of 50 medals including 11 Bronze, 19 Silver, and 20 Gold.
The Girls claimed 26 of those 50 medals, while the boys captured the remaining 24 however both genders have amasses 10 gold medals.
The hosts for the event, The Bahamas are in second place with a respectable tally of 21 medals. Their medals include five golds, eight silvers and eight bronze. Twelve of those 21 medals have been won by the girls.
Barbados have won four golds, five silvers and two bronze for 11 medals, while Trinidad & Tobago have four golds, one silver and five bronze for 10 medals overall.
Suriname have two golds and one silver, with Miguel Van Assen, who won the Under-17 boys’ Triple Jump and High Jump winning the gold medals.
