Jamaica’s ‘Bunny’ Shaw Secures Back-to-Back WSL Golden Boot Awards

Jamaica’s own Khadija “Bunny” Shaw has secured the prestigious Barclays Women’s Super League (WSL) Golden Boot for the 2024/25 season—her second consecutive award.

Shaw, who represents both Manchester City and the Reggae Girlz with distinction, netted 12 goals from just 14 top-flight appearances.

What stands out, however, is not merely the number of goals, but the extraordinary efficiency with which they were delivered: a league-best 0.85 goals per game average.

Her tally matched that of Arsenal’s Alessia Russo, who required 20 matches to reach the same number.

Her campaign began with a decisive goal in a narrow 1-0 victory over Brighton.

But it was at Anfield that Shaw reminded football watchers why she is among the world’s most feared forwards.

With City trailing, Shaw rose to the moment—first levelling the score, then powering home the winner in stoppage time to silence Liverpool’s crowd and secure maximum points.

But her brilliance was not confined to key moments.

Shaw also carved her name into the record books with a sensational hat-trick against Tottenham at the Etihad, establishing a new WSL record for most hat-tricks scored.

That treble marked her sixth in the competition—another marker of her dominance and unrelenting hunger.

Despite her season being cut short by injury during the League Cup final against Chelsea, the body of work already stood tall.

Five additional goals followed her record-setting feat, confirming her status as a prolific and indispensable striker.
