Suspended Reggae Girls Poised for Return to National Team

Following their historic round of 16 appearance at the 2023 FIFA World Cup finals, the Reggae Girlz squad that impressed at the tournament seems poised to reunite after the upcoming FIFA window.

The players, who played a pivotal role in Jamaica’s success Down Under, had opted out of the qualifiers for the inaugural Concacaf Women’s Gold Cup due to unresolved issues with the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF).

Consequently, they were suspended by the federation, and efforts to reconcile have been futile thus far.

However, recent reports suggest that their suspension will be lifted in time for the FIFA window from April 1 to 9, making them eligible to represent their country once again.

The last time these World Cup players wore the Jamaican colors was during the Olympic qualifiers against Canada in September last year.

Meanwhile, the Reggae Girlz are scheduled to play two friendly internationals against Chile on February 23 and 27 during the upcoming FIFA window.
