JFF Continues Pursuit of Mason Greenwood
Jamaica Football Association (JFF) President, Michael Ricketts, remains resolute in his pursuit of former England striker Mason Greenwood, according to a recent report from the Jamaica Observer.
Ricketts conveyed that Greenwood has been on the JFF’s radar for some time now, and they are committed to exploring all avenues to secure his talents for their national squad.
While addressing the matter, Ricketts commented:
“The answer is he is available, but we have not made any contact….In fact, I have a meeting with the coach and he will update me because I have been away for a few weeks.
“But I know there have been some players who have been showing interest and the coach was in England, but there could very well be the possibility [of Greenwood joining]”.

Greenwood, who is part of Manchester United, recently garnered attention when the club revealed that he will not be continuing his career there following an internal investigation spanning six months.
The talented 21-year-old striker encountered a suspension due to his arrest on charges of alleged assault and domestic violence back in January 2022. The charges were subsequently dropped.
With an impressive record of 22 goals in 83 appearances since his debut for Manchester United in 2018, Greenwood’s potential addition could significantly bolster Jamaica’s football aspirations.
