Atkinson Returns as Reggae Boyz Gear Up for Unity Cup Clash

Dwayne “Busy” Atkinson has been recalled to the Reggae Boyz squad ahead of the Afro-Caribbean Invitational Tournament — the Unity Cup — after a standout season that saw him named MVP of the Concacaf Caribbean Club Championships.
The 2025 edition of the four-team tournament kicks off May 27 at the Gtech Stadium in Brentford, England.
The 23-man squad features a mix of homegrown talent and overseas-based professionals.
First-time call-up Rumarn Burrell of English League One side Burton Albion joins the ranks, alongside the returning Javon East from Israeli Premier League outfit Hapoel Haifa, and Premier League midfielder Brandon Cover of Leicester City.
Ten locally-based players have been included in the squad, among them all three goalkeepers: Shaquan Davis, Benjamin Williams, and Tafari Chambers.
The defensive unit features a combination of youth and experience with Richard King, Mason Holgate, Dexter Lembikisa, Kyle Ming, Amari’i Bell, Greg Leigh, and Stephen Young all selected.
In midfield, Isaac Hayden, Kasey Palmer, Jon Russell, Daniel Green, and Cover will marshal the centre of the park.
Up front, Atkinson is joined by fellow attackers Renaldo Cephas, Warner Brown, Kaheim Dixon, East, and Burrell.
Mount Pleasant captain Suelae McCalla has earned a late call-up, with one final addition expected before the squad departs for England on Saturday.
Jamaica opens its campaign against Caribbean rivals Trinidad and Tobago on May 27.
Ghana and Nigeria will face off the following day, with the tournament concluding on May 31 with a third-place match and the final.
