Father of Usain Bolt, Wellesley Bolt, Passes Away

Following a prolonged illness, Olympic legend Usain Bolt’s father, Wellesley Bolt, has died. Monday’s confirmation of his passing came from the Jamaica Observer.
Respected in Sherwood Content, he operated a small grocery shop within the tight-knit community.
Years of dedication made him a key influence in his son’s early life.
Usain’s sprinting journey began in that quiet rural district before he moved to high school. Development of his immense talent took place at William Knibb under expert coaching.
Jennifer Bolt and her husband remained unwavering supporters throughout their son’s incredible career.
Championships across the globe saw them cheering him on with pride.
Proudly attending the 2008 Olympics, Wellesley watched as Usain shattered a world record. Glory followed when his son secured his first Olympic gold medal triumphantly.
Avoiding the spotlight, he still played a crucial role in Usain’s rise to stardom. Foundation and support from family helped shape one of the greatest sprinters ever.
Survived by his children Usain, Sadiki, and Christine Bolt-Hylton, he leaves behind treasured memories.
