Reggae Girlz Climb FIFA Rankings to Close 2024

Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz have moved up two spots to end the year as the 40th ranked team on the FIFA/Coca Cola Women’s World Rankings.

This rise follows their impressive sweep of South Africa in a two-match friendly series in Montego Bay, where they secured a 3-0 win on November 28 and a 3-2 victory on December 1.

With this upward move, the Reggae Girlz maintain their status as the top-ranked team in the Caribbean and hold the fourth position in Concacaf.

They trail only the United States, who lead the FIFA rankings, as well as Spain (2nd, +1), Germany (3rd, +1), and England (4th, -2). Sweden remains fifth, while Canada, Concacaf’s second-highest-ranked team, holds sixth place.

Other notable Concacaf rankings include Mexico (31st, -1), Costa Rica (43rd), Haiti (54th, -1), and Panama (57th, +3).

Trinidad and Tobago remain steady at 77th, followed by Guatemala (79th, +1), Puerto Rico (85th), Guyana (89th), El Salvador (90th), and Cuba (91st).

Globally, Sweden and Canada continue to secure their lofty fifth and sixth spots, respectively. Meanwhile, Brazil (7th, +1) and Japan (8th, -1) have exchanged positions.

Korea DPR holds ninth place, while the Netherlands (10th, +1) re-enter the top 10, displacing France (11th, -1) for the first time in history.

Poland (28th, +4) and Belarus (50th, +5) showed significant gains within the top 50, while Indonesia (97th, +7) and Estonia (99th, +8) made remarkable progress to break into the top 100.
