Born on August 31, 1943, in Kingston, Jamaica, Crawford gained international acclaim when she was crowned Miss World in 1963 at just 20 years old.

She passed away on December 18.

Standing at only 5 feet 3 inches, Crawford defied traditional beauty standards, demonstrating that grace and poise transcend physical expectations.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness, in his tribute to Crawford, stated that her “legacy is one of resilience and inspiration, reminding us that greatness knows no boundaries.”

“As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate her incredible contributions to Jamaica’s global recognition,” Holness remarked, adding, “May her soul rest in peace, and may her family find comfort in knowing the lasting impact she has left on our nation.”
