Jashaun Anglin Replaces Damion Lowe for Jamaica’s Concacaf Nations League Clash Against Honduras
Mount Pleasant midfielder Jashuan Anglin has been called up to Jamaica’s national squad ahead of their crucial Concacaf Nations League match against Honduras on Monday.
Anglin steps in as a replacement for defender Damion Lowe, who will miss the game due to an accumulation of yellow cards, the latest picked up during Jamaica’s 2-0 win over Nicaragua on Thursday.
The Reggae Boyz currently lead Group B with seven points, one more than Honduras, who secured a 3-2 victory over French Guiana in their last match.
A draw would be enough for Jamaica to advance, but a win would see them finish with 10 points, equalling their highest ever points total in the group phase of League A.
Jamaica holds a strong record against Honduras, having won their last six encounters. Additionally, they remain undefeated in seven consecutive competitive fixtures against their Central American rivals.
However, Honduras has been difficult to break down against Caribbean teams, suffering just one defeat in their last eight games— a 2-1 loss to Jamaica.
Notably, Honduras has only won once on Jamaican soil, a 2-0 victory in December 1968.
The match is scheduled for an 8 p.m. kickoff at the National Stadium in Kingston.
Jamaica Squad: Andre Blake, Shaquan Davis, Jahmali Waite, Dexter Lembikisa, Di’shon Bernard, Greg Leigh, Damion Lowe, Jon Bell, Richard King, Tayvon Gray, Ethan Pinnock, Mason Holgate, Kasey Palmer, Karoy Anderson, Bobby Reid, Joel Latibeaudiere, Tyreek Magee, Renaldo Cephas, Norman Campbell, Michail Antonio, Demarai Gray, Kaheim Dixon, Romario Williams, Jashuan Anglin.
