Fayval Williams Appointed as Jamaica’s New Minister of Finance, Nigel Clarke Departs for IMF Role
Prime Minister Andrew Holness announced today that Fayval Williams will serve as Jamaica’s new Minister of Finance and Public Service, succeeding Dr Nigel Clarke.
Clarke officially resigned from his ministerial duties and departed Jamaica today to begin his new role as Deputy Managing Director at the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Senator Dr Dana Morris Dixon will now take over Williams’s previous role as Minister of Education.
In addition, Matthew Samuda will reassume his responsibilities as Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation.
The changes were confirmed by Prime Minister Holness during a post-Cabinet press briefing this morning.
