Ethan Pinnock Scores as Brentford Defeat Wolves in Eight-Goal Thriller

Jamaica’s Ethan Pinnock added to Brentford’s attacking firepower in a thrilling 5-3 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, capping a first half filled with goals from six different players.

Brentford were slightly slower off the mark than in recent fixtures, where they had scored inside the first minute.

This time, they netted in the second minute through Nathan Collins, after Wolves had kicked off the match. Pinnock, however, secured the final goal of a frantic first half, heading in during stoppage time to put Brentford 4-2 ahead.

Wolves responded quickly to Brentford’s early lead, equalising through Matheus Cunha at 3 minutes, 57 seconds, marking the first time in four years that two Premier League goals were scored inside the first four minutes.

The back-and-forth continued with Brentford retaking the lead through Bryan Mbeumo’s penalty in the 20th minute, only for Wolves to equalise again in the 26th minute. Christian Norgaard restored Brentford’s advantage less than two minutes later.

Pinnock’s header made it 4-2 at the break, and the goals kept coming in the second half. Fabio Carvalho added a fifth for Brentford, while Rayan Ait-Nouri scored late for Wolves to finish the eight-goal affair.

The match featured eight different goalscorers, marking only the 10th time in Premier League history this has occurred. For Pinnock, his contribution came at a crucial moment, helping the Bees break a run of disappointing results, following defeats to Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, and a draw against West Ham United.

Brentford will now look to build on this victory, with Pinnock’s performance a key highlight.
