**’Bunny’ Shaw Earns Spot on Ballon d’Or Shortlist for Second Time**
Jamaica’s Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has been named on the prestigious 30-player shortlist for the 2024 Women’s Ballon d’Or, the most coveted individual award in world football.
The Ballon d’Or, awarded by the French magazine France Football, will be announced at a ceremony at the Théâtre du Chatelet in Paris on October 28.
Shaw’s nomination follows a remarkable season in the Barclay’s Women’s Super League (WSL), where she set multiple records despite not matching her 31 goals from the previous campaign.
She secured the WSL Golden Boot with 21 goals in just 18 appearances, becoming Manchester City’s all-time top scorer after netting against Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium in March 2024.
Shaw was the driving force behind Manchester City’s attack, earning her a spot in the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) WSL Team of the Year for the 2023/24 season.
Despite her season being cut short due to a broken foot, Shaw also claimed the PFA Players’ Player of the Year and the Football Writers’ Association (FWA) Women’s Footballer of the Year awards.
Shaw is one of three Manchester City players on the Ballon d’Or shortlist, alongside Yui Hasegawa and Lauren Hemp.
