What’s The Breast Thing To Do?

Why not send former Kingston-resident Love Doctor your relationship queries? Use the form to submit your question(s).

Question:

I’ve been single since the coronavirus pandemic and since then I’ve not had the drive to find a boyfriend. I’m lacking a bit of confidence to even look because I’m getting older (in my early forties) and my breasts are starting to sag.

I’ve always worn a bra size bigger than I really need. Now I’m thinking about having breast augmentation after I saw women my age looking so great and pert in Miami.

What do you reckon I should do? And will it help me attract the right sort of attention?

Love Doctor’s Answer:

If breast augmentation is a serious consideration to boost your confidence and/or to improve your body shape, then you should maybe make a free consultation with a private clinic to discuss the pros and cons.

Should you only be entertaining having a boob job to attract a potential partner for a serious relationship, then that’s not a terribly good reason. Especially as so many men take a strong dislike to breast implants.

This is your decision only, and you should not be swayed towards this procedure solely to attract a new romantic partner. There are ways to get your mojo back, such as upgrading your appearance, joining a gym and/or finding hobbies to meet new people.

Following a lengthy break as a singleton, it is up to you to show the desire and motivation if you truly want to have a meaningful romantic relationship,

As for the attention that you could achieve from breast augmentation, this is totally dependent on their new size and shape if you go under the knife. Also the fact as to whether they are going to be evocatively displayed in clothing that screams “look at me”. Just be aware that many fake boobs will sit too close together compared to the natural look. Should you wish to proudly show your new breasts to the world, just don’t shove them under people’s noses.

The fact that you have been sporting the wrong size bra for a number of years could well be the reason behind your boobs starting to sag, although gravity has obviously also taken its toll.

My initial advice, before you even consider making an appointment with a medical professional to discuss this, is to invest in a couple of bras and swimwear that are the correct size for your body.

You should be pleasantly surprised by new bras, because your natural breasts will show volume in their lower half courtesy of gravity. Always check your contours from the side when trying on underwear and/or swimwear, as you could soon be brimming with confidence and higher self-esteem once you see your reflection from a side angle.

Should you decide to eventually pursue breast augmentation, be aware that initially your fake boobs will probably appear as full on the top as they are at the bottom. This may sound fabulous, but please be aware that this effect doesn’t last forever.

Due to the natural effects of loose skin as ladies get older, any new boobs are severely prone to sagging due to any excess weight in the breast implant. Surgery may not provide the magical touch that you are perhaps seeking on a long-term basis, even if you are comfortable in having the procedure.

I urge you to hold back before you even book a medical appointment. This is because you are in your forties, which is the perfect age for your breasts to alter, akin to middle age spread.

As your boobs are most likely to grow bigger because of your age bracket, then wait to see if you can skip undergoing any surgery. Also, surely you don’t wish to alienate any of the shallow men that aren’t going to respect you just because you have had a boob job.

One thing is certain, in your age bracket the look and feel of your breasts will definitely alter. If you can be patient and invest in bras that fit you properly, then this inexpensive action along with the natural change in the shape and size of your boobs could bring surprising results to restore your inner confidence.
