Reggae Boyz Squad Dealt Blow as Michail Antonio Ruled Out for Semis Against USA

The Jamaican national team, gearing up for a crucial semi-final clash against the USA in the Concacaf Nations League final this Thursday, has faced yet another setback.

Michail Antonio, recently recovered from injury, has withdrawn from the squad.

The West Ham striker, who found the back of the net in the club’s recent English Premier League fixture against Aston Villa, had been sidelined for both club and country due to fitness issues.

Antonio’s absence compounds the challenges for coach Heimir Hallgrimsson, who already grapples with the earlier withdrawals of regular starter Ethan Pinnock and Amari Bell.

Furthermore, Leon Bailey and Trivante Stewart have been suspended by the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) for violating team curfew post their quarterfinal victory over Canada.

The other unavailable players are Demarai Gray and Shamari Nicholson, who will miss Thursday’s match due to suspensions incurred during the recent Canada games.
