Jamaica’s reigning Jamaica Premier League champions, Mount Pleasant, have once again secured a spot in the top 100 football teams in the Concacaf region.
The Theodore Whitmore-coached team has climbed three places in the latest release of the rankings, now sitting at an impressive 99th place.
This accomplishment reaffirms Mount Pleasant’s growing stature in the regional football landscape, showcasing their prowess on the field.
The team’s dedication and consistent performance under Whitmore’s guidance have contributed to their upward trajectory in the rankings.
Mexican football powerhouse, Club America, continues to maintain its dominance as the number one ranked team in the Concacaf region.
It is closely followed by other Mexican giants, CF Monterrey, Tigres, and Club Leon, with Andre Blake’s MLS team, the Philadelphia Union, rounding out the top five.
Mount Pleasant not only holds the distinction of being the 99th ranked team overall but also stands tall as the third-highest ranked team among Caribbean counterparts.
This achievement highlights the team’s regional prominence and their potential to make waves in international competitions.
In a broader context, other Jamaican clubs have also made their presence felt in the Concacaf rankings.
Premier League finalist Cavalier has climbed one place to 104, while Arnett Gardens maintains its position at 113.
Portmore United has moved up one place to 119, and Waterhouse sits at 120, completing the top five ranked Jamaican clubs on the Concacaf list.
