JFF Names Senior Reggae Girlz Squad for Key Friendlies Against Chile

Amidst persistent challenges and unresolved disputes, the Jamaica Football Federation has unveiled a 22-player roster for two crucial international friendly matches against Chile on February 23 and 27.

Notably absent from the squad are key senior first-team players, who continue to abstain due to ongoing issues with the federation, primarily concerning unpaid fees and related grievances.

Nevertheless, the selected delegation represents a blend of talented athletes from diverse backgrounds and educational institutions.

Among them are standout performers such as Theana Burnett from Sacred Heart University, Serena Mensa from Fordham University, and Sydnie Street from Seneca College.

With players hailing from institutions like George Mason University, SCU Torreense, and SK Slavia Praha Zeny, the team exhibits a rich diversity.

The delegation, comprising both local officials and SWNT (Senior Women’s National Team) players, is set to depart from Jamaica on Tuesday, February 20.

Arriving in Chile a day later, the team is brimming with determination and unity.

Leading the team is Head Coach Xavier Gilbert, supported by Assistant Coach Jermaine Thomas, Team Manager Crystal Walters, and Team Doctor Ruchelle Brown.

The coaching and support staff also include physiotherapist Ashley Stephens, masseur Devin Lawson, GK Coach Everdean Scarlet, equipment manager Omar Folkes, and trainer Leacroft Lettman.

Heading the delegation is Paul Beckford, the Head of Delegation.

The full squad comprises Theana Burnett, Serena Mensa, Sydnie Street, Zoe Vidaurre, Nevillegail Able, Chinyelu Asher, Alika Keene, Ricshya Walker, Marlo Sweatman, Christina Salmon, Davia Richards, Mikayla Dayes, Shaneil Buckley, Melissa Johnson, Aliyah Morgan, Jade Bailey, Destiny Powell, Lachante Paul, Isreala Groves, Naya Cardoza, Njeri Butts, and Lexi Lloyd-Smith.
