Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz Slip in First FIFA Rankings of 2024

In the latest FIFA Coca Cola World Rankings for 2024, Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz have slipped two spots, now sitting at 57th place.

Despite ending 2023 as the 55th ranked team globally, they maintain their sixth position within the CONCACAF region.

The United States leads the CONCACAF teams, though they dropped to 13th place overall.

Mexico remains at 15th, Panama fell three places to 44th, Canada dropped two spots to 50th, and Costa Rica also slipped two spots to 54th.

Significant movements were observed due to matches in the Africa Cup of Nations and the Asian Cup. Ivory Coast climbed ten places to 39th after their continental triumph, while Nigeria, the beaten finalists, surged 14 spots to 28th.

Qatar, the two-time Asian Cup winners, notably rose 21 places to 37th, amassing the most points (92.04) following their successful defense of the continental crown on home turf.

In the top ten, there’s no change, with World Champions Argentina maintaining their top spot, followed by France, England, Belgium, Brazil, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Italy, and Croatia.
