$150 Million To Be Allocated For Each Constituency for Road Rehabilitation under SPARK Programme
Prime Minister Andrew Holness unveils ambitious 40 billion road improvement initiative
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Andrew Holness revealed that approximately $150 million is to be allocated to each constituency for road rehabilitation works as part of the government’s Shared Prosperity through Accelerated Improvement to our Road Network programme, SPARK.
The initiative, a colossal 40 billion road improvement project, aims to upgrade more than 2,000 roads across the island over the next two years.
Prime Minister Holness made the revelation during a session in the House of Representatives, highlighting the government’s commitment to fostering widespread development and infrastructure enhancement.
Prime Minister Holness emphasised that the government has allocated funds in a manner that ensures all constituencies are treated equally, mitigating regional disparities.
The consultations with Members of Parliament are expected to conclude before the close of the current fiscal year on March 31.
