Celebrities Flock to Bob Marley’s ‘One Love’ Movie Premiere in Jamaica

The Carib 5 Theatre in Cross Roads was ablaze with excitement on Tuesday evening as the highly anticipated premiere of the Bob Marley biopic, “One Love,” drew an illustrious crowd of celebrities and dignitaries.

Among the notable guests were the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who graced the red carpet, adding a touch of royal glamour to the event.

Scheduled for public release on February 14, 2024, the Paramount Studios-produced film offers an intimate portrayal of the life and legacy of the legendary Jamaican Reggae icon, Bob Marley.

The premiere provided an exclusive opportunity for stars and dignitaries to experience the movie ahead of its official launch.


Jamaica’s Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, was in attendance and took to social media to share his reflections on the momentous occasion.

In a social media post, he stated, “The premiere of the Bob Marley: One Love Movie in Jamaica signifies a momentous occasion for our nation and the global community. 🇯🇲 Bob Marley’s ability to connect people through his music, transcending cultural and geographical boundaries, has made him a symbol of unity and resilience.”

He continued, “As we celebrate the premiere of this film, let us reflect on the enduring impact of Bob Marley’s work, recognizing the importance of his contribution to global conversations on peace, love, and social change.

“May this cinematic tribute bring Bob Marley to a new generation, ensuring that his messages of hope and justice continue to inspire and resonate for years to come.”

Starring in the film are Kingsley Ben-Adir, delivering a compelling portrayal of the iconic musician, and Lashana Lynch, who embodies the role of his wife, Rita Marley.

The star-studded cast also includes James Norton, Nadine Marshall, Umi Mayers, Michael Gandolfini, Anthony Welsh, and Tosin Cole.
