Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls Maintain Number Four Ranking in Latest Netball World Rankings

Australia, the reigning champions of the 2023 Netball World Cup, remain as the number one ranked team globally in the latest release of the Netball World Rankings.

The rankings, unchanged at the top, see New Zealand securing the second position, followed by England at third, and Jamaica holding firm to their fourth spot.

The most notable shift in the rankings occurs at 16th place, where Fiji replaces Samoa.

This change reflects the outstanding performances of the Fiji Pearls, who secured the second position at the Pacific Games earlier this month.

Celebrating recent successes, Caribbean team Grenada and Namibia experienced upward movement in the rankings.

Grenada, recognised for their achievements at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank International Series, climbed two places to secure the 19th position.

Similarly, Namibia’s triumph at the Africa Netball Cup propelled them two spots higher, placing them at 20th.

The latest rankings also welcome three new teams into the fold, as Canada secures the 36th position, Eswatini claims 37th, and Dominica lands at 40th.

These teams earned their spots after meeting the minimum requirement of eight games to qualify for a world ranking, bringing the total number of world-ranked teams to 44.
