Jamaica emerged triumphant at the 30th World Travel Awards, held at the iconic Burj Al Arab in Dubai, United Arab Emirates over the weekend.
The event, attended by a distinguished audience of government leaders, officials, global corporate executives, and travel industry stakeholders, saw Jamaica securing two prestigious accolades – “World’s Best Family Destination” and “World’s Best Cruise Destination.”
The honours were graciously accepted by Jamaica’s Tourism Minister, Edmund Bartlett, a prominent figure in the global tourism landscape and the founder and chair of the Jamaica-based Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Centre (GTRCMC) ‘Think Tank.’
Bartlett, representing his nation, expressed gratitude and pride in accepting the awards, emphasising Jamaica’s commitment to providing unparalleled experiences for families and cruise enthusiasts.
In addition to Jamaica’s double triumph, Minister Bartlett took the opportunity to present the inaugural Global Tourism Resilience awards.
These awards recognise entities and nations that demonstrated outstanding global leadership, visionary foresight, and innovation in overcoming critical challenges and adversity in the tourism sector.
