Reggae Girlz Get $25 Million Boost Ahead of High-Stakes Olympic Qualifiers Against Canada!

The Reggae Girlz have been given a significant boost just days before their crucial Olympic qualifiers against Canada.

The Jamaica Olympic Association has pledged a generous commitment of 25 million dollars in partnership with the Jamaica Football Federation and the Bob Marley Foundation.

This announcement was made earlier today at the Jamaica Olympic Association’s offices.

Dennis Chung, the General Secretary of the Jamaica Football Federation, expressed his deep gratitude for the timely financial support.

He highlighted that this infusion of funds will greatly alleviate the financial pressures faced by the team as they prepare for the high-stakes matches against Canada.

The first leg of the Olympic playoffs is scheduled to take place this Friday at the National Stadium, with a kick-off time of 7:00 PM local time.

The return leg is set to be held in Toronto on September 26, 2023. These matches will determine which team earns a coveted spot to represent Concacaf in the women’s football tournament at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The winner, determined on aggregate scores over the two matches, will join regional champions United States as the two Concacaf teams at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Furthermore, the victorious team will secure an automatic qualification for the inaugural Concacaf Women’s Gold Cup tournament, which is scheduled to be hosted in the United States between February 17 and March 10 of next year.
