Carey McLeod Signs Professional Contract with Adidas!

Carey McLeod, the reigning 2023 NCAA Indoor and Outdoor long jump champion, has secured a professional contract with the renowned German sportswear brand, Adidas.

At 25 years old, McLeod has carved a niche for himself in the field of long jump, although he has also dabbled in the triple jump.

His remarkable personal bests include a long jump of 8.34 meters and a triple jump of 16.40 meters, both achieved in the year 2021.

Notably, McLeod achieved a national record-equalling jump of 8.40 meters during the indoor season on March 10th this year, which earned him the NCAA Indoor title.

This impressive performance put him on par with James Beckford and ranks him 20th all-time indoors.

Recently, McLeod participated in the World Championships held in Budapest, where he narrowly missed securing a medal in the long jump.

Despite his best jump of 8.27 meters, which matched the distance achieved by his compatriot Tajay Gayle, he was edged out of the bronze medal due to a countback.

McLeod made his professional debut at the Zurich Diamond League meet on Thursday, achieving a jump of 7.60 meters, securing him the ninth position.
