Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz Climb to All-Time High in FIFA Rankings After Historic World Cup Run!
Following their remarkable performance at the recently concluded FIFA Women’s World Cup, Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz have surged up the FIFA Coca Cola Women’s World rankings by six positions, achieving an unprecedented lifetime best of 37th place.
Under the guidance of Coach Lorne Donaldson, the team now stands as the fourth highest-ranking Concacaf squad, trailing behind the United States at third place, Canada at tenth, and Mexico at thirty-sixth.
At present, the leading position in the rankings is held by Sweden, while newly crowned world champions Spain secure the second spot, albeit missing out on 35 points due to a significant 4-nil defeat against Japan in their final group-stage match.
The top five rankings are rounded out by the United States, England, and France, while Germany, Netherlands, Japan, Brazil, and Canada complete the rest of the top ten.
Notably, tournament host Australia has slipped to the eleventh position.
Anticipate the next FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World ranking update on December 15.
The Reggae Girlz are set to return to the field in September for a crucial two-way Olympic playoff against Canada.
