Jamaica’s Carifta Games Dominance Continues
Jamaica has once again claimed the top spot in the medal table at the CARIFTA Track & Field Championships for the 37th consecutive year.
The games, which took place from April 8-10 at the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium in Nassau, The Bahamas, saw Jamaica finish with a total of 78 medals, which was 32 more than the hosts who took second place, and 47 more than Trinidad & Tobago who came in third.
St. Kitts & Nevis and Barbados rounded out the top five with 11 and 10 medals respectively.
Jamaica’s medal haul comprised 40 gold, 22 silver, and 17 bronze medals. The team’s performance was impressive across both the Boys and Girls categories, with 36 medals won by the Boys and 42 by the Girls.
The hosts, The Bahamas, also put on an impressive showing, claiming a total of 46 medals, including 10 gold, 13 silver, and 23 bronze.
Meanwhile, Trinidad and Tobago finished in third place with a total of 31 medals, including nine gold, 10 silver, and 12 bronze.
