Hospitalised Former PM Portia Simpson Miller Reportedly ‘Doing Well’
Jamaica’s first female prime minister, Portia Simpson Miller, was admitted to the hospital on Thursday night for a minor complaint.
However, sources close to her reported that she is currently resting and recuperating well.
The People’s National Party confirmed in a statement released on Friday that her hospitalisation is not an emergency and that she is receiving excellent medical care and support from her loved ones.
The PNP expressed their appreciation for the public’s prayers and well wishes and asked for continued prayers for the speedy recovery of their dear Sister P.
The statement did not mention when Simpson Miller is expected to be discharged from the hospital.
