Elaine Thompson-Herah Set to Compete Against Several American Athletes at Tom Jones Memorial Invitational
Elaine Thompson-Herah – two-time Olympic sprint champion and the second-fastest woman in the world over 100 meters, is set to compete against a group of American athletes at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational in Florida today.
The event will take place at the Percy Beard Track, located on the University of Florida Campus, where Thompson-Herah will participate in the 200-meter race against Melissa Jefferson, Kyra Constantine, and Maia Mccoy.
Thompson-Herah, who has already won two 60-meter races this year (including an indoor race), will make her debut in the 200-meter event this season.
She also competed in a 400-meter race at the John Wolmers Speed Fest in Kingston, where she finished fifth.
One of the other Jamaican athletes taking part in the meet is Junelle Bromfield, a former training partner of Thompson-Herah at the MVP track club.
Bromfield won a bronze medal in the mixed relay at the Olympics.
