Frontier Airlines Launches More Flights to Montego Bay, Jamaica
Jamaica’s winter tourist season is expected to break records, with no signs of slowing down.
The island is adding three new nonstop flights from the United States, boosting tourism from the midwestern and western regions.
Frontier Airlines will operate nonstop flights from St. Louis, Chicago, and Denver to Montego Bay, with all routes running three times per week.
The airline has been rapidly expanding across the Caribbean, with a focus on popular destinations such as Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Cancun.
This expansion has opened up new source markets for Jamaica and other Caribbean destinations.
The trend of US-based airlines looking for Caribbean routes from new cities is growing.
Jamaica expects to surpass its record-breaking tourism numbers from 2019, with an all-time high of seats to the island this winter. Jamaica’s tourism officials are projecting more than $4.1 billion in tourism earnings, exceeding last year’s revenues by 13.3 percent.
Jamaica Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett said, “Jamaica tourism is back, and our recovery continues to outpace our earlier projections.”
The new flights all begin this week: St. Louis-Montego Bay service kicked off on Feb. 23, Denver-Montego Bay service begins today (Feb. 24), followed by Chicago-Midway-to-Montego Bay on Feb. 25.
