Prime Minister Andrew Holness is again urging Jamaicans to get vaccinated as the government continues its push to inoculate the population.
In an online statement, PM Holness said:
“The reality for many unvaccinated persons is that they end up hospitalized and many die.
Yesterday as I took my children to get vaccinated, I had a conversation with Dr Franco Pencle, an Accident and Emergency Doctor at the Kingston Public Hospital.
Dr Pencle notes that getting vaccinated can save you from hospitalization, a trip to the emergency room and even death.
We encourage all Jamaicans to take the vaccine; you are not doing it for any other reason but for the preservation of your own lives and those of your loved ones.
You never know how you will react to getting Covid-19; the vaccine is your best hope to avoid becoming critically ill and possibly dying.”
