Flash Flood Warning Now In Effect For Eastern And South Central Parishes
A Flash Flood Warning is now in effect for Eastern and South Central Parishes, while a Flash Flood Watch is in effect for all other parishes – effective until 5:00pm today August 26,2021.
An Area of Low Pressure approximately 322 kilometers (200 miles) south of Jamaica is producing showers and thunderstorms that is currently affecting the island.
The forecast is for mostly cloudy conditions with periods of showers and thunderstorms, which could be heavy at times to continue to affect most parishes, with the greatest intensity over eastern and central parishes throughout today into Friday.
Strong gusty winds are also likely in the vicinity thunderstorms along coastal areas of southern parishes.
Flash flooding is therefore likely over low-lying and flood-prone areas of these parishes.
