Jamaica Records 83 New COVID-19 Cases
Jamaica has recorded an additional 83 COVID-19 cases, increasing the island’s tally of confirmed cases to 1,612.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness made the announcement on Monday at a virtual press conference.
The prime minister also said 53 persons are currently hospitalised.
Forty-five persons are currently isolated in a government facility while 604 persons have been isolated at home and 25 in a government facility, the prime minister also revealed.
Some 29,724 persons are supposed to be in quarantine at home.
Effective Thursday, August 27, the island-wide curfew will run from 9 pm to 5 am daily, instead of 11 pm to 5 am.
The curfew of 7 pm to 5 am which is currently in place in select parishes – Kingston, St Andrew, St Catherine, Clarendon and St Thomas – is to remain in place until September 2 as was previously announced.
