Ex-Reggae Boyz Skipper Extends Leicester City Contract
Wes Morgan, the Leicester City legend, has been handed a one-year contract extension with the former English Premier League champi
ons.
The future of the veteran, who has played a bit part for the Foxes this term despite being club captain, was previously uncertain as his contract was set to expire at the end of June.
But the former Jamaica skipper signed a deal yesterday (17 June) that will keep him with the ambitious Midlands club for the 2020-21 campaign.
The popular ex-Reggae Boy defender has been restricted to just 14 appearances in all competitions for Leicester this term, seemingly ousted out by the impressive partnership of Jonny Evans and Caglar Soyuncu.
The 36-year-old, who signed for the Foxes from Nottingham Forest eight years ago has played a key role in the club’s most successful period including the shock capture of their historic 2015-16 EPL title and reaching the Champions League quarter-fnals the following season.
