Peter Phillips Receives Treatment For Stage 3 Colon Cancer

The People’s National Party (PNP) has revealed that Dr Peter Phillips is receiving treatment for stage three colon cancer.

A statement by the Opposition Leader’s medical team said Dr  Phillips underwent “complete and successful surgical removal of the cancer on March 23 and is now recovering comfortably at home.” 

The party says a health evaluation of Phillips by University Hospital of the West Indies Professor, Terrence Forrester, and Consultant Surgeon, Dr Mark Newnham, resulted in the diagnosis of ” a stage 3 curable colon cancer.”

Dr Phillips will need to receive further preventative treatment (chemotherapy) in the coming months while he continues to carry out his public duties.

The statement added: 

“Phillips’ medical and surgical teams are optimistic of complete remission based on the worldwide experience of managing this stage.”
