Northeast Diaspora Leader Dr. Karren Dunkley Pens Heartfelt 2020 Easter Message

I trust that you, your family and community are safe and healthy, and will remain so in the days ahead.

The COVID-19 pandemic has ushered in some of the most turbulent and unprecedented times than any of us have experienced in our lifetimes.

It seems like we woke up, and our lives changed overnight here in the United States and across the world.

Despite the coronavirus pandemic, the coming days represent a time when Christians prepare for the most sacred of holidays. For those who observe, Easter is the time when the resurrection of Christ declares the promise of eternal life.

This Easter celebration is more significant as state and local stay-at-home orders require all of us to remain physically distant from our loved ones. However, physical distance does not mean emotional and spiritual distance.

During this Easter, I hope that we will embrace the gift that this reflective moment brings—maybe the chance to connect with family and friends that we are frequently too busy to talk to or to think deeply about what matters in our lives.

I extend my most profound wishes to you, your family, and your community for a Blessed Easter. Spring is a time of renewal and rejuvenation.

May this Easter provide hope during these uncertain times and spring in a tomorrow that is more caring and kind.
