No Confirmed Case Of Covid-19 In Jamaica – Health Minister Reaffirms
Jamaica’s Health Minister, Dr. Christopher Tufton says there is no confirmed case of Covid–19, in the island.
While speaking during yesterday’s (March 4) sitting of the Standing Finance Committee, he said:
“As at the third of March 2020, at 8 am, we can report that Jamaica has had no case of Covid-19.
He added: “I’m stressing that because there are so many rumours out there. I just want to reassure the public, as soon the clinical team determines that there is, the public will be informed.”
The health ministry is also asking members of the public to reach out to the ministry, when they have concerns, or wish to have anything clarified.
As of March 5, 2020, there have been 95 315 confirmed cases of COVID-19 globally, including 3 282 deaths.
The deaths have been reported from China (3 014), Italy (107), Iran (92), South Korea (35), United States (11), on an International Conveyance in Japan (6), Japan (6), France (4), Australia (2), Philippines (1), San Marino (1), Spain (1), Taiwan (1) and Thailand (1).
