Pitcairn Tackles New Role With CFU
Ex-Miss Cayman Island’s goal is to move administration to Jamaica
Theresa Pitcairn, a lawyer from the Cayman Islands, has been appointed by the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) as their Administrative Consultant.
Her immediate task, during her initial six-month appointment with the CFU, is for the relocation of the administration from Antigua to Jamaica.
Pitcairn’s role fills the boots of former CFU General Secretary Neil Cochrane, whose contract concluded at the end of July but he has been on the sidelines until he was replaced.
Born in Grand Cayman she was crowned Miss Cayman Islands in 1982 before pursuing law at Bristol university in England.
Pitcairn, with over 25 years in the legal profession, is a Judicial Committee member of football’s world governing body FIFA, and has also previously provided her expertise to CONCACAF.
The CFU, established in 1978, is the official governing body of football associations and federations throughout the Caribbean.
There are 31 associations within the CFU comprising Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Bonaire, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Curacao, Dominican, Dominican Republic, French Guiana, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Martinique, Montserrat, Puerto Rico, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, Sint Martin, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago, Turks & Caicos Islands and the US Virgin Islands.
