Alia Atkinson Extends Winning Streak At FINA Swimming World Cup
On Friday (November 10) Jamaica’s ‘Darling of the pool ‘ Alia Atkinson resumed her winning streak in Beijing, China on the third and final leg of the FINA Short Course World Cup Series.
Atkinson clocked 29.57 to take gold.
This is her 5th consecutive gold medal in the 50 meters Breaststroke for 2017 under 30 seconds, having already won the event in Moscow, Eindhoven, Hong Kong and Qatar.
The World governing body for swimming (FINA) has described the unassuming 28 year old Jamaican as the fastest and most consistent Breaststroker in the history of the Short Course World Cup and a single asset for Jamaica who continues to enchant us with her performances.
She currently holds the World Record of 28.64 seconds in this event.
