The Guiltless Miner
Some say that he is the guiltless miner
Always digging deep for that rare gold
And he patiently works smarter and harder
For any precious and illustrious medal to hold
He makes steady steps towards the mine
Where so many others, too, ply their trade
Hoping to strike that precious gold each time
Long before the glory of his youth fades
Omar, medal miner of the McLeod clan
Consistently shows his value overtime
Giving his steadfast effort as a champion
As he enters the promising gates of each mine
The guiltless miner whose favourite ore is gold
Has made his mark time and time again
And with passion, he digs hard for more
Searching for his country and for himself
He so proudly carries the Jamaican flag
All around the world for all to see his love
For a career, only few are meant to have
Always mining his way to precious ores
The guiltless miner has found Olympic gold
And has also won international acclaim
Where the dream of a miner is unfold
Now a world champion, in a miner’ game
