Reggae Boyz to Face Peru in Friendly International

Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz will take on Peru in a friendly international as part of their preparation for the upcoming Caribbean Football Union (CFU) semifinals and CONCACAF Gold Cup.

The game will be played on June 13 in Peru.

Peru, based on FIFA’s most recent rankings is among the best teams in the world.

The South American nation is currently ranked 17,  just below Mexico (16) and Uruguay (15).

  

Coach, Theodore ‘Tappa’ Whitmore shared his elation regarding the planned encounter stating:

“We always welcome practice games, and this one comes at a perfect time”, said Coach Whitmore.

Jamaica, ranked 73rd, plays French Guiana in the Caribbean Cup on June 22.

The Reggae Boys will play alongside Mexico, El Salvador and Curacao in Group C at the Gold Cup which runs from July 7 to 26 in the United States.
