Tyson Gay’s Daughter Dies After Being Shot at Restaurant
The daughter of the American sprinter Tyson Gay has reportedly succumbed to injuries she sustained from a gunshot at a restaurant in Lexington, Kentucky (USA) this morning.
The 15-year-old, Trinity Gay was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to the neck and died shortly before 5 am, according to the Fayette County Coroner.
Police in Lexington say Trinity Gay was hit in the neck during an exchange of fire between two vehicles outside the restaurant.
She was as a rising track star at Lafayette High School according to several US based media outlets.
Tyson Gay, in former years was one of Usain Bolt’s fiercest rivals and remains the second fastest man in world alongside Jamaica’s Yohan Blake with a personal best of 9.69 seconds over 100m.
Lex18 quoted Gay as saying: “She didn’t make it. I’m so confused. She was just here last week for fall break. It’s so crazy. I have no idea what happened”
