The Origin of Usain Bolt’s ‘To Di World’ Pose

At the end of each race, Jamaica’s Usain Bolt loves to strike his signature ‘To Di World’ pose.

The pose goes by different names depending on where you are in the world.

In some places, primarily Jamaica, it is known as the “Lightning Bolt”, while in others it simply referred to as “Bolting”.

Many famous figures including the President of the United States have struck the pose which requires one to bend an elbow and straighten the other at an angle towards the skies.

However, many persons are still unaware of the origin of the pose.

Bolt recently explained where the pose started while speaking with Yahoo Sports.

“One day me and my friend were talking….there was a dance in Jamaica called ‘To Di World’….and I was like yooooo…..Imagine if I did this, it would be pretty cool…and then, I just did it” stated Bolt.

“So I just kept the name because…it works and people loved it,” he also added.
