Mandeville Police Officer Attempts Suicide

A police officer attached to the Area 3 divisional headquarters reportedly attempted to commit suicide this morning (September 27) in Mandeville, Manchester.

Authorities were notified by residents of the constable’s intention.

The officer was reportedly attempting to jump from the Grand Mark variety store building located in the town’s square.

Emergency responders were later successful in getting the man down from the building and he was carried to the hospital. 

Manchester- Superintendent Vendolyn Cameron-Powell has disclosed that it was not the first time the constable had attempted suicide.

Cameron Powell also stated  that the constable is known to create excitement whenever he becomes dissatisfied.

The constable is scheduled to undergo psychological evaluation.
