Usain Bolt’s 100m Win Results in Evacuation of Terminal at US Airport
Whenever Jamaica’s Usain Bolt is competing at an event in the Olympics, the world takes a pause to behold his greatness.
An estimated two billion people watched the ‘big man’ compete in the men’s 100m final at the London Olympic Games in 2012, despite the fact that the event was not broadcasted live in the United States.
It is therefore probably safe to assume that global productivity takes a dip during those few seconds when the world’s fastest man bolts down the track.
On Sunday (August 14), one terminal at the John F Kennedy International Airport in the United States was reportedly evacuated, shortly after his victory at the Rio Games.
Initially, terminal 8 at the busy airport was reportedly evacuated after reports came in that shots had been fired with eyewitnesses reporting “clapping and banging”.
However, the NYPD’s Special Ops team later tweeted: “All terminals searched & cleared.”
“Negative results. All affected terminals will resume operations shortly.
“No shots were fired.”

Authorities later stated that reports of the shooting coincided with the time Usain Bolt won his 100m race.
Bolt’s victory in the 100m makes him the first human to ever with the event at three consecutive Olympic Games.
