PNP Criticised For Controversial Storm Tweet
A recent tweet by the People’s National Party (PNP) has generated harsh criticism from some persons via social media.
The tweet by the opposition party stated: “We would like to implore comrades to be safe as the storm approaches, please make use of the emergency contact,” and was followed by a hyperlink.
Jamaica currently remains under a storm warning as tropical storm Earl passes south of the island.
“PNP sick mi stomach!,” exclaimed one woman who shared the tweet in a popular Facebook group, Politics Time Jamaica Articulate Majority.
To which a man responded: “The PNP officially confirm that they only care about their friends, family and themselves. Now a hurricane is coming and they are telling comrades to keep safe, what about the people of Jamaica,” stated another social media user.
The opposition party has since deleted the controversial tweet and replaced it with the following:
