Alleged Bisexual Jamaican to Be Deported From the US Following Failed Asylum Bid
A Jamaican man who claims to be a bisexual was unsuccessful in his attempt to earn asylum in the United states.
Ray Fuller is to be deported from the United States after an appeal court concluded that he is in no danger of homophobic attacks in Jamaica.
A panel of judges voted 2-1 in favour of his deportation, citing the fact that he has fathered children.
An immigration judge also stated that the 51-year-old could not be truly bisexual because he had married a woman and the men involved in Fuller’s extramarital affairs refused to testify in court.
The judge also stated that bisexuals are not subjected to persecution in Jamaica.
Fuller sought asylum in America due to his alleged sexual orientation. He told the court that he had been shot in his buttocks at a party in Jamaica because of his lifestyle.
He alleged that the shooting incident prompted his family to kick him out of his home.
Numerous pro LGBT outlets in the United States have since lashed out against at the court’s ruling.
