The Trip of a Lifetime! Yohan Blake Takes Boys’ Home Residents to France
Jamaican Olympic silver medallist, Yohan Blake continues to reveal that he has a heart filled with compassion by his willingness to help the less fortunate.
Five residents of the Mount Olivet Boys’ Home in Walderston, Manchester, are now reportedly on the trip of a lifetime to France funded by sprinter Yohan Blake through his YB Afraid Foundation and his French sponsor and business partner Richard Mille.
The Mount Olivet Boys Home is located in Walderston, Manchester, Jamaica and provides residential and social services for boys 8 – 18 years of age who are orphaned, abandoned, homeless, or reside with families who cannot adequately provide for their care.
Residents are provided with education, recreation, employment training, and worship opportunities to help in their development toward being able to contribute to the well-being of their communities and their families as they approach adulthood.
According to the JIS, Blake and the boys departed the island on July 6 for the 12-day trip, where they will experience the unique French culture, including the language, food, art, and customs.
They will visit various cities in the European country known for its couture fashion; classical art museums, including the Louvre; monuments like the Eiffel Tower, and its sophisticated cuisine.
While in France, they will observe the making of Richard Mille’s luxury Swiss brand of watches, and attend the unveiling of Mille’s YB Afraid sports car whose insignia was designed by one of the boys. The design captures the Jamaican colours and Yohan Blake’s athletic spirit.
On Thursday Blake shared a video of himself with the boys from Mount Olivet at the Le Mans Classic in France:
