Simpson Miller’s Estimated Worth – J$14M – Based on Financial Records
Following numerous requests to make her financial records public, Opposition Leader Portia Simpson Miller has now reportedly released her financial records for the last decade: 2006 to 2016.
A recent report by RJR states that during said period —records showed that Portia Simpson Miller only missed one of the reporting deadlines, and the delay was just by a week, that was in December 2007.
Mrs Simpson Miller also has savings at the National Commercial Bank – J$2.2 million in a current account and US$106 in a savings account.
The career politician also has stocks in four different companies with total value of J$58,000.
Mrs Simpson Miller has consistently, over the ten year period, listed a Kingston 6 property as house and land.
The purchase price was J$58,000, but the documents did not show when the property was bought. The current market value of that property was not included in any of the reports.
Based on the documents submitted, Mrs Simpson Miller’s estimated worth is, therefore, a little over J$14 million – that is not taking into account the current value of Mrs Simpson Miller’s property.
Last month, news began circulating that Mrs Simpson Miller’s net worth was US$20 million, a figure which sent tongues wagging across the nation.
That figure was derived from Get Net Worth, a website that estimates the net worth of celebrities.
Mrs Simpson Miller reportedly had an estimated value of a little over J$6 million the year after she first became prime minister.
