It’s never too late to achieve your dreams.
Many people are seemingly of the belief that once you have passed a certain age, school is simply out of the question.
Jamaican native Hubert Evans recently became the oldest graduate of Medgar Evers College, an institution based in Brooklyn, New York (USA).
This after completing his bachelor’s degree in liberal studies at 87 years of age.
According to Fox 5, Evans has been a Brooklyn College campus safety officer since 1993.
The Jamaican native worked and attended college full-time.
Evans’s goal is to begin a career in social work. If you think this is it for Evans, you are wrong. He wants to pursue a master’s degree.
In a recent interview, when asked “Was it hard?” – Evans stated:
“Oh very hard, very hard, you study for like for or five hours, and by morning you forget everything.”
He also offered advice for those who may think “it’s impossible”:
“Always strive for the best, be truthful and strive for the best, work hard, that’s the only way you can reach somewhere,” states Evans.
