Popcaan Escapes Deportation After Assaulting Cop in Antigua

Jamaican entertainer Andre Sutherland, more popularly known as Popcaan was forced to spend a night in jail in Antigua after he was slapped with two charges.

The deejay has been released but was charged with obstructing a police officer and battery of police officer.

He was also reportedly fined 2000 East Caribbean dollars (XCD) which equates to approximately  $740 US and is free to re-enter the island whenever he wishes as there is currently no deportation order.

In a video circulating online, Popcaan intervenes during a confrontation between a police officer and a fan who seemingly ran unto the stage without permission.

During the video, the entertainer can be heard saying “Tek time with them police. Mi done tell you nuh deal with them so rough.” as a police officer attempts to remove the man from the stage.

According to Antigua’s Daily Observer, Popcaan later left the stage after another conflict allegedly developed between the artiste and the cops.
