“Mi want back mi cousin!” Families Grieve Loss of Children in Fire
Two children, a 4-year-old boy and 10-year-old girl reportedly perished in a fire that gutted a 10 bedroom dwelling in Kingston early Wednesday.
At approximately 4:30 am, smoke was observed emanating from the dwelling located in a tenement yard and an alarm was raised.
Despite a prompt response from firefighters who quickly arrived on the scene, the children could not be saved.
Overcome with grief, family members of the children, ran through the streets crying when they learned of the their demise.
One girl reportedly in her teens stated: Mi want back mi cousin! Mi want back mi cousin!”
The father of one of the children reportedly needed to be restrained to prevent him from entering the house while the mother of one of the children had to be rushed to hospital.
